Nurses! What Can’t They Do?

Effective Nurse Case Management and the right provider network result in lower costs and better outcomes. So says WorkCompWire publishing the results of a study conducted by York Risk Services Group.

This project involved analyzing two sets of closed claims with identical ICD-9 codes, risk classifications and nature/extent of injury. On the claims set that used 100% Nurse Case Management along with a specialized PPO network, the results were remarkable:

  • Disability periods only 66% of Official Disability Guidelinesprojections;

  • Actual lost time days were one-third of the non case management set.

At OMCA, this is the model we have used for over twenty years. Our nurses engage early and often to ensure that claimants receive theright care from the right provider at the right time. This translates to better outcomes.

Call us. We do Nurse Case Management better.
