“Cream Me Up, Scotty”

Feb
03

At least once per episode, Captain Kirk would instruct chief engineer Montgomery Scott (Scotty) to man the transporter and beam-up his energy pattern to a new location. Today, we have certain compounders who want to “cream up” your claimants and transport your dollars to their location.

Writing in The New York Times/Business Day, and with the help of actual claims provided by PMSI, Andrew Pollack illustrates the extreme costs of certain compounding creams.

Creams #1 and #2 represent the compounders’ answer to low back pain, versus the Anti-Cream, a more traditional, conservative approach.

Cream #1: $2,388

Cream #2: $4,100

Anti-Cream: $200
