Because It Works!

The Work Loss Data Institute publishes the Official Disability Guidelines, commonly referred to as ODG. Their mission is to “apply evidence-based medicine to improve healthcare outcomes.” We have used ODG for many years, and along with our clients, we have been pleased with the results. I could fill this newsletter with many examples where properly using ODG has allowed us to prevent inappropriate, harmful and expensive treatment.

 

I’m linking to an independent study entitled “A New Method of Assessing the Impact of Evidence-Based Medicine on Claims Outcomes.” Briefly put, when guideline compliance was high, claim duration was approximately 12% lower and medical costs were approximately 28% smaller compared to a low guideline compliance group.

 

So why do we use ODG?

 

Because it works and allows us to do better for our clients.
