“A rose by any other name would smell as sweet,” said Juliet to Romeo. If I remember my high school literature correctly, she was telling Mr. Montague that his name didn’t matter, just his character.Well, according to a recent article from The Tampa Tribune, there is a Florida-based clinic which is described as a “patient factory” by a whistleblower employee. This clinic was recently named in a federal indictment that charged the operators with paying kickbacks for patient referrals with the goal of defrauding workers’ comp payors.

This clinic is alleged to have:

  • Performed unnecessary treatments;
  • Charged for procedures never performed;
  • Wildly exaggerated symptoms/diagnoses;
  • Assigned “Totally Disabled” to almost 80% of patients seen.

You can plant all the roses you want around this medical provider, and it still stinks.

This operation is not in my network. Hopefully it is not in yours.
Call us. We can do better.
