If you expected the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) to always provide timely risk warnings, you might be disappointed. (Where was that Lost in Space robot when we really needed him?)

 

Let me explain it this way. If I suggested you take a new medication, but if you do you’re at risk for:

  • Addiction
  • Overdose
  • Death…

…Oh and finally, I need to tell you it probably won’t work, and you should consider alternative therapy. Your response would probably be to skip it and say thanks for the warning.
Years too late, the FDA has decided to just now add these warning labels to opioid medications. They are finally doing better. We have been sending the warning for years.
