Former Eastern Kentucky MD Pleads Guilty

 

USA Today reports on December 13, 2011 that former eastern Kentucky physician Richard Albert has pleaded guilty to illegally dispensing about 50,000 pain-killers to people who didn’t medically need them. Albert agrees to forfeit $500,000 in proceeds from the conspiracy and faces up to 20 years in prison. Sentencing will occur April 18, 2012 in U.S. District Court.
