Hong Kong is Beautiful in September

You might remember the problems back in 2012 with the New England Compounding Center. Sixty-four people died, and 750 developed fungal meningitis from contaminated steroid injections.

According to federal investigators, pharmacists at this facility concealed unsafe practices, fraudulently labeled injectables as sterile, and purposely doctored cleaning logs to cover up the fact that their mixing rooms and equipment were dirty. The supervisor for this pharmacy was recently arrested as he attempted to board a plane for Hong Kong.

Beware, as these compounding companies are loosely regulated and inspections are limited. Nevertheless, expect to see more activity and requests for approval of compounded drugs and creams.

Why? There are huge profit margins for these products!

Experienced UR professionals and appeal physicians with the right credentials are the best ways to control runaway compounding costs. Don’t compound your problems.
