My Fab Five

The National Council on Compensation Insurance (NCCI) just released its latest list of the five critical concerns of workers’ comp executives. These include:

Rate adequacy;
Aging workforce;
Medical costs;
Gig economy;
Workplace technology.

I can’t argue with the importance of these issues, but my focus list for 2020 is more specific to doing better for my customers and their injured workers.

Ongoing recruitment of quality providers;
Evidenced-based treatment authorizations/denials;
Broader opportunities for dealing with opioid addiction treatment;
Timely and effective communication;
Protecting payors’ money by improving outcomes.

These are the fundamentals that enable us to do better.
