Pain Clinic Owner to Feel Real Pain

On Thursday, August 2, 2012 a Louisiana businessman was sentenced to 15 years in federal prison by a Lexington, KY judge.  As reported by Brett Barrouguere of the Associated Press,
Michael Leman conspired with several of his employees to prescribe oxycodone and methadone to bogus patients who worked with drug dealers to distribute the drugs throughout eastern Kentucky.

This case marked, for our area,  the first prosecution of a pain clinic owner.  A quote by Federal Judge Gregory Van Tatenhove during the sentencing hearing sums it up for me–”A generation of Kentuckians are held in bondage to this addiction”.

We see this every day in work comp and group medical and we must all keep the pressure on the few rogue providers and clinics that contribute to this misery.

Call Us.  We can do better.
