Surgeon Punches Patient. REALLY?!?

One of my favorite Saturday Night Live skits was the Weekend Update “REALLY?!?” segment with Seth Meyers and Amy Poehler. After reading some unbelievable news item, they would give that sarcastic look and say, “REALLY?!?”

 

An article out of UK Telegraph News highlights what may be the REALLY?!? event for 2015.

 

As reported, one of Britain’s leading facial surgeons had his license suspended for punching a patient “like a boxer” ten times to correct a cheek fracture. He allegedly didn’t want to make an incision and correct the fracture surgically. REALLY?!?

 

He told his assistant to document in the file that “the cheek had been adjusted by external pressure.” REALLY?!?

 

The licensing panel heard testimony that the patient could have been blinded by punches to the optic nerve. REALLY?!?

 

Don’t worry because this doctor has moved to the Middle East. REALLY?!?
