Extra! Extra! from The Hazard-Herald, dateline Perry County, Kentucky.

It seems that a verdict was just reached in the trial of Dr. James “Ace” Chaney and spouse regarding drug conspiracy, pre-signing blank scripts, money laundering, and the altering of drug screens. According to The Hazard-Herald, the couple owned and operated “Ace Clinique of Medicine” in Hazard.

The Feds issued a 269 count indictment, the state suspended their license and there were allegations of $23 million in fraudulent money flowing through the “Clinique.”

The newspaper article explains this operation had a very large patient base and was cooperative in allowing the staff to complete scripts for whatever the patients requested.

We serve the Hazard area and all of Eastern Kentucky, and it can be a challenge, due to demographics, to find the right provider for every locale. But I also know this:

  • My providers typically don’t use “Ace” as their professional nickname;
  • Most locals spell “clinique” as CLINIC;
  • $23 million is a lot of money for The Dukes of Hazard.

Who is putting your provider network together?

Call us. We can do better.
